At Betwitching Blues Colour Point Kittens we are a small Cattery where quality, not quantity is our aim. We are blessed to breed this wonderful breed of cat as it allows us to interact with a cat with a dog like nature. We love this breed so much and we are 100% committed to the health and well being of all of our babies and adult cats. We carry the traditional apple head Balinese varying from medium to longer haired Bali’s As well as varying color points.  We are proud to say that our babies and cats are not caged, only when breeding is taking place and newborn babes are in the midst, are the cats ever separated and even that, we practice an open environment breeding program. The breeding pair is secluded to an area where it is calm, quiet, where nature then takes its place. 

We believe that Mother Nature does just fine without our intervention and that calm females make for more successful breedings. 

Of course we monitor and are present for the breedings but we do not assist or intervene in any way. Upon a successful breeding, we remove our "gentleman" and allow our 'mother to be" some uninterrupted and much needed rest. 

We started out breeding Siamese then stumbled across the amazing Balinese Breed. It’s such a treat to be able to breed these amazing babies but then to also help others who, because of allergies,  couldn’t experience the joy of a pet, we can partake in the excitement of new pet owners and that is quite exciting..

All of our cats (including male and female) at Betwitching Blues Cattery live harmoniously together in our home along side three large White German Shepherds where they have the run of the house. 

We carry an assortment of Color point babies; We carry Blue Points, Blue Point Snowshoes, Blue Point Snowtigers and future Seal Points at this time. We are often rotating our beautiful female breeders as we don’t want to over breed them, so their breeding careers are often short lived. 

We carry the traditional Apple-head Balinese cats and our breeder cats come from both here in Canada and the United States. 

All of the kittens are not sold with papers, they are sold as pet only and are under contract. All of our Ladies and Gentlemen are beautiful and very healthy. We work with our Vet to ensure the best healthy babies we can by constantly working diligently to keep illness out of our Cattery and ensuring healthy happy cats and kitties. We do this by not only working with the Vet but by not allowing a lot of traffic thru or interaction with other cats outside our Cattery. We believe this helps to keep down airborne illnesses that can be carried in by humans or other cats.

Babies are imprinted at birth and continuously touched, cuddled and loved until they leave our home. Our adult mamas often love to share each other’s babies and are very tolerant of each other’s love and interest in one an others litters. 

When babies are old enough and Mama’s see fit, the babies then venture out to meet their dads and the dogs. At this point potty training begins and babies begin to climb up our bed and begin to sleep with us, this continues until they go to their new furever homes..

All of our adult cats are UTD on vaccinations and deworming.

When it’s time for the babies to go to their new homes, they will have had two vaccinations, four doses of strongid dewormer, Vet health check with passport and one year health guarantee. 

If transportation is required out of province, or within the province shipping is available at an extra cost..

History

The Balinese cat is basically a long-haired breed of the domestic Siamese cat, with Siamese-style point coloration, sapphire-blue eyes and usually weighing in at 6 - 12lbs. It is not known if the long hair is because of a natural mutation, or a cross between the Siamese and a longhaired breed such as a Persian or Turkish Angora.

It has been said that the Balinese cat was named after the exotic, graceful dancers of the Indonesian island of Bali..The Balinese (the long haired Siamese) cat did not begin to come unto its own as a breed until the 1940s and 1950s, although they did make their appearance earlier than that. 

In 1961 The Cat Fanciers Federation recognized the Balinese breed and in 1970 the Cat Fanciers Association followed. 

The Balinese is also recognized by the International Cat Association, The American Cat Fanciers Association, as well as other cat registries. Balinese can be outcrossed to Javanese, Siamese, Colorpoint Shorthairs and Oriental Longhairs.

Balinese make great pets as they are very social and like to hang with their people. They get along with both cats and dogs and seem to do better when they are not left alone all day and have a playmate to keep them company. It is recommended that if no humans are home throughout  the day,  then a  friend, be it a cat or dog is beneficial for the mental well being of the cat..Balinese are a low maintenance kitty that carriers a single coat, which means less shedding and grooming..And of course the BEST thing about them is they’re hypoallergenic, so YA for allergy sufferers. Please note though that hypoallergenic does not mean non allergenic as there is no such thing, but for most allergy sufferers, this kitty is a must..Although the Balinese looks like an unlikely candidate for a hypoallergenic cat it is one of the few breeds that produces less of the Fel D1 and Fel D2 protein than other cats, thus causing fewer allergic reactions in allergy sufferers.
